We continue our week in review series with a look back at some of the past week's top stories.
At his sentencing hearing Friday morning, Richard Cameron Wilkerson was sentenced to no less than 20 and no more than 40 years in prison after being convicted earlier this year of second degree murder in connection with the death of Brian Newman. Wilkerson was found guilty of second degree murder in Newman's death, which occurred during an altercation at the Century Club in Buffalo back in September of 2012.
The Sheridan County Sheriff's Office is seeking information from the public regarding an incident on Wednesday of last week in northern Sheridan County. The Bureau of Land Management says 100 gallons of hydrocarbon waste was dumped sometime last week at the Welch Ranch Management area on the Decker Highway.
According to the BLM, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Sheridan County Fire Department and the BLM installed emergency containment and diversion last Wednesday morning, which prevented the spill from reaching the Tongue River.
The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case of a missing 23 year-old woman who was last seen in Sheridan, according to her family. Shannon Nicole McIntyre McClure has been missing since June 15th. She was last seen when family dropped her off at Walmart in Sheridan.
