Friday we told you about a scam in Sheridan where a citizen was contacted by phone in an effort to obtain their credit card information that would have no doubt been used fraudulently. The individual suspected fraud and did not give out any of their information.
Sheridan Police Lieutenant Chris Dahmke says that since fraud over the phone is starting to occur more often, people can register with the national Do Not Call Registry to try and avoid phone scammers.
Dahmke said that you can register either your home or mobile phone number for free. Click here to register on the do not call registry.
