A water service agreement that was executed in October of 2009 to provide SAWS water to Big Horn High School has been amended by the SAWS Joint Powers Board and Sheridan County School District One. The agreement stated that once completed, the 8 inch water main constructed to serve the high school would be owned, operated and maintained by the SAWS system.

SAWS Project Manager Dan Coughlin explains why an amendment to transfer ownership of the water main was approved by both parties.

The location of the water main played a big role in the need for the amendment, as it's proximity is very close to the football field and other facilities at the high school.
