If you would rather vote on election day than register and then vote on the same day, you have until October 22 to register. Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield said today that October 22 is the last day, ahead of the November 6 election, for eligible voters to register.
Maxfield said the reason registration closes two weeks before the General Election is to allow county clerks enough time to prepare the poll books - for all of the 301 polling stations in Wyoming. Alternatively, voters can register at their polling place on the day of the General Election.
You must be a U.S. citizen to register in Wyoming, a resident of the state, at least 18 years old by November 6 or a felon who has had civil or voting rights restored.
For information on how to register, contact your county clerk's office. Residents of Johnson County can call 684-7272 and Sheridan County residents can call 674-2500. Or you can visit http://soswy.state.wy.us/electio... for a list of the county clerk's offices throughout the state.
