VOA Reports To Johnson County On Juvenile Justice Program

At this week's Johnson County Commissioner's meeting, Scott Duncan, Juvenile Probation Coordinator, and Todd Richins, Division Director for Volunteers of America, presented the Commissioners with their quarterly report on the juvenile justice program for the county.

The program averaged 11 clients on probation/diversion during the quarter, and had nine involved in treatment court.
Hours spent with clients this quarter was 275.
County bed days used was 4 this quarter.

The True Thought Class, with six participants, finished up in January. There will be a new class starting next month.

Commissioner Jim Hicks asked what the class is about, and Duncan and Richins explained.

Also discussed was the amount of time in the last quarter spent on data entry, averaging 63 hours per month. The program is currently training a drug court coordinator and hope to lessen the burden on Duncan once the coordinator is fully trained.
