A Violet Masquerade

Sheridan's African Violet Club held their annual show and sale Saturday in St. Peter's Episcopal Church's fellowship hall. A blanket of color, club president Michael Cherni says African Violets sure beat the winter doldrums.

This year's theme was a “Violet Masquerade” and the club, which formed in the 1950's, is a time when members can get together to share and problem solve growing African Violets.

The African Violet was discovered in Tanzania, Africa in 1892.
