The annual Veteran's Day observances took place on Friday in Buffalo, with a small parade and ceremonies at the Veteran's Memorial at Fort and Main Streets.

In addition to the firing squad volley, services at the memorial included the flag ceremony, The Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation and Benediction. Music was also provided by local school kids.
This year's address was given by Dan Thiele, who spoke of the beginnings of Armistice Day after World War I, which eventually became Veteran's Day.
He thanked all veterans of all wars.
Thiele recognized those From Johnson County lost in Foreign Wars: four in the Spanish-American War, 19 in World War I, 28 in World War II, one in the Korean War, and 7 in the Vietnam War.
