Verdict is in on David Selig Trial

Update: The verdict is in on the David Selig case heard in Sheridan County Circuit Court Wednesday. A 6-person jury and one alternate waded through thorough and detailed testimony on three different charges, presented by prosecuting attorney Christopher LaRosa. They came back with their verdict just after 8 o'clock Wednesday night.

On the charges against Selig from November 29, 2008, Count I - Property Destruction or Defacement: Guilty; Count II - Interference with an Emergency Call: Not Guilty; Count III - Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana: Guilty.

On the charges against Selig from March 3, 2009, Count IV - Driving Under the Influence: Not Guilty; Count V - Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana - Guilty.

On the charges against Selig from May 27, 2009, Count VI - Driving Under the Influence, Guilty [the jury unanimously found that on that date, Selig drove a vehicle while having an alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more and that they unanimously found that on or about that date Selig drove a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance or both to a degree that rendered him incapable of safely driving.]; Count VII - Using or Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance: Guilty.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.
