UW Receives Software Donation From Oilfield Service Company

The Schlumberger oilfield service company has donated 73 million dollars in production modeling software to the University of Wyoming. UW College of Engineering and Applied Science Dean Robert Ettema says the software will expose UW undergraduate students to advanced industry practices involving oil and gas reservoirs.

In addition to the teaching component, the software also will be used by several UW departments including petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, geology and mathematics.
