UW Extension Offering Field Day For Grazing Management

UW Extension Offering Field Day For Grazing Management

The University of Wyoming Extension Johnson County Office is offering a free field day today on Grazing Management for the Small Acreage Livestock Owner.

The program will discuss forage needs for livestock, especially horses; demonstrate methods to estimate total plant production of a pasture; how to determine the size of an area needed to feed livestock for a day; and how to keep a pasture in good ecological condition or improve it if needed, among many other areas of discussion.

The field day will be today, and there is no fee to attend. They have room for more attendees, but those wishing to attend need to register this morning by calling the Johnson County Extension Office at 684-7522.

The field day will be hosted by Gordon and Jean Strom.
