UPDATE! Suspect Charged in I-80 Rampage

In a media release issued just before noon Friday from Sgt. Townsend with the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Armondo Cano, the suspect in Wednesday evening's rampage on I-80 in Sweetwater County, has been charged with sixteen violations, including felonies and misdemeanors. Cano has been charged in Sweetwater County with the following:

Aggravated Assault; Attempted Manslaughter; Battery; Driving While Under the Influence; Driving While Under Suspension; Reckless Driving; Property Destruction; Criminal Entry; Larceny; Felonious Restraint; Failure to Report a Crash; Failure to Maintain Vehicle Within a Single Lane; Failure to Yield Right-of-Way by a Pedestrian; Parking on a Highway; Resisting Arrest; and Promoting Obscenity.

Toxicology results on Cano have not been completed yet. Townsend indicates that the process takes some time. Meantime, Cano is being held at the Sweetwater County Detention Facility in Green River.

The Casper Star Tribune article talks about the shots fired by Cano. Apparently he entered a car, causing the driver to flee. He found a pistol in the car and fired it.

If you are going to have a pistol in your car, USE IT!! If you don't want to hurt or kill someone, DON'T OWN OR CARRY A PISTOL!!
