Negotiations for a collective bargaining agreement between the City of Sheridan and the local firefighters union continued Monday night at the City Council meeting. After hearing the union's contract proposal, the Council tabled the item so that Human Resources Director Heather Doke could review the proposal in depth before the next round of negotiations in a couple of weeks.
Following the meeting, Union President George Neeson was asked if he thought the matter would end up in arbitration.
Neeson said that the biggest change from last year's contract that they are proposing is paid educational training for union representatives. The city and the union will resume negotiations at the next council meeting, Monday, May 19.
