Some unexpected news was announced by the Sheridan College Board of Trustees late Tuesday. Sheridan Media's Betsy Love has the story:
Actually this news was expected—just not so soon. The 5-month selection process for the next Sheridan College President came to a close late yesterday, just hours after the 3 finalists completed their interviews. Here's Board Chairman Bruce Hoffman, addressing the crowd that had gathered to hear the announcement:
Following the unanimous vote, Dr. Paul Young gave a brief acceptance and thank you speech, as he was also apparently caught a little off guard by how quickly the news came:
And Board Vice President Katie Sherwood said of the selection process:
Paul Young will officially succeed Jon Connolly as Sheridan College President on June 1st.
