Two staff members at Sheridan College were recently honored at this year's conference of the Wyoming Association of Community College Trustees in Cheyenne.

Brett Burtis, Director of Veteran Services for the Northern Wyoming Community College District, and Patricia Dray, Dental Hygiene Instructor at Sheridan College, were recognized by their peers at the annual conference earlier this month.

Colleges from across the state sent a total of six people to the conference and one winner was chosen at the state level - and Sheridan College claimed two out of those six honorees.

Dean Sharon Elwood said in a media release Burtis is an incredible asset to students within the district and that he's passionate about helping veterans - so much that he will always go the extra mile on their behalf. Burtis was named the WACCT 2013 Professional Employee of the year.

Dray was the recipient of the 2013 Faculty Member of the Year award. Dean Trudy Munsick said she's talented and always willing to help others - and that she serves as a mentor and leader for the entire department.
