Two people from Gillette were killed in a head-on crash on a state highway. They've been identified as 28-year-old Matthew Jacobson
and 29-year-old Joshua McOmber. Neither were wearing seatbelts. They died at the scene. The crash happened at 1:40 Thursday afternoon on Wyoming 59, about 11 miles north of Wright.
Sgt. Stephen Townsend of the Wyoming Highway Patrol released the information on Monday. He said Jacobson was driving a Dodge Stratus when he crossed over the center line into the path of a tractor-trailer rig.
The vehicles remained together and traveled into the east barrow ditch, then through a right-of-way fence. When they came to rest, Jacobsen's Dodge Stratus was under the rig. The driver and passenger in the tractor-trailer rig were both hospitalized. One was from Nevada and the other from California.
