Two Arraignments Held in District Court Thursday

36-year-old Sheridan resident Jason Lyles was arraigned in 4th Judicial District Court Thursday. Lyles is charged with two felonies; Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine; and Endangering Children.

Lyles plead “not guilty” to both charges, and District Court Judge John Fenn set a trial date for February 23rd, 2010. Judge Fenn also denied defense attorney Robert Jones' request for a bond reduction and continued Lyles $15,000 cash only bond.

Also from District Court: 17-year-old Joshua Hairston was scheduled for arraignment Thursday; he faces eight different charges – six felonies and two misdemeanors. A plea agreement with the State and the defendant was reached just prior to the hearing.

Hairston plead guilty to three counts of Felony Burglary. If the Court accepts the terms of the plea agreement, he could be sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison to run concurrently. Hairston must also pay restitution on all of the counts. Terms of the plea agreement state that if Hairston enrolls and completes the Wyoming of Department of Corrections Boot Camp, the remainder of his sentence will be suspended and he'll be placed on supervised probation.

Hairston was arrested for allegedly burglarizing vehicles in Sheridan that spanned several nights in early July of this year. Sentencing was set for December 1st at 9 am.
