The Sheridan City Council held the second of three work sessions Monday on the Sheridan College bond issue to expand and renovate the College's Technical Education Center on campus. During the first two work sessions, the term “turning away students” has been brought up a number of times as one of the reasons the tech center expansion is needed.

Supporters of Sheridan College Chairman Mark Kinner said that a recent conversation with SC Welding Instructor Carl Shiner reiterated the fact that the College is turning away students due to the lack of space.

As part of this year's Big West Arts Festival this weekend at Sheridan College, the public will be able to tour the current Tech Center on Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm. There are no reservations required for the tours on Saturday. There are four more scheduled Tech Tours that will take place over the next couple of weeks that do require reservations. We'll have more on that story for you later this week.
