It was a time of remembrance, but also a time for Sheridan's Memorial Hospital Auxiliary to host its annual Trees of Love fundraiser.
A tradition that began in 1988, the Trees of Love ceremony is a way to honor or memorialize loved ones by donating $5 and purchasing a light on one of the Christmas trees in front of the hospital.
Hospital Volunteer Coordinator Patty Forister explains.
White lights memorialize a deceased loved one, green is used to honor a relative or friend, and red lights honor a child or pet.
All proceeds are donated to the hospital. Last year, over $4000 was raised by the Trees of Love event.
