Representatives from the City of Sheridan, WYDOT, and the North Main Neighborhood Association held a tree planting ceremony Monday along North Main Street in Sheridan. NMNA Secretary/Treasurer Nancy Drummond says that the trees along North Main are an example of the revitalization efforts that began some three years ago.
In total, there will be seventy nine trees planted along North Main during the first phase of the project. The three types of trees that are being planted are; maple, lilac, and a fruitless crabapple. The trees are currently 10 feet high and are expected to grow to twenty to thirty feet over the next ten years. When complete, the trees will run along North Main from Fort Road to 8th Street.
