At Tuesday's Sheridan County School District 1 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board and Superintendent Sue Belish honored Barbarann Gill, who has retired after over twenty years as Transportation Coordinator for the District.
Belish noted that Gill was an extraordinary bus driver and friend, always putting the needs of the students, staff and families ahead of any inconveniences that could come up – unexpected trips, weather-related delays, to name a few.
After bestowing Gill with a gift, Board Chair Suzie Dow came forward on behalf of the other Trustees and read several pages of thoughts and well-wishes, as Belish retires June 30th after 29 years in the District. Here is part of what was read.
Dow closed by reading this sentiment.
Trying to keep her emotions in check, Belish then told those at the meeting.
Belish said she looks forward to spending more time with family, especially her grandchildren, as well as serving on the State Board of Education, the Center for a Vital Community Board, and the board for the Tongue River Valley Community Center.
The new District 1 Superintendent, Marty Kobza officially takes over July 1st.
