The Buffalo Swim Club is selling raffle tickets for their annual duck race fundraiser. The race will be held April 30 in Clear Creek in Buffalo.
April Poley, with the Buffalo Swim Club, explains what it's all about.
The ducks will be dumped into the Creek at the Klondike Bridge and will finish at the Lobban Street Bridge downtown.
Each raffle ticket sold has a number that corresponds to a numbered duck. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10 and can be purchased by contacting Poley at 684-2823, or through any Buffalo Swim Club member, or occasionally at local stores when the kids set up booths.
The funds raised go towards offsetting expenses for the swim club, such as fees for renting the YMCA pool, salaries for coaches, travel expenses for the club and helping with keeping swimmers' participation fees low.
The duck race is one of two fundraisers for the club, the other being their annual swim meet they host at the YMCA. That meet is happening this weekend as well.
For more information on the meet, contact the Buffalo YMCA at 684-9558.
