The Johnson County Family YMCA's 36th Annual Klondike Rush starts Saturday in Buffalo, and Wellness and Program Director Tim Cahal said though over 100 people have already registered, he expects that number to swell by the time the race begins.
This year will feature a 5k, 10k and the second annual kid's run, he said, and there is still time to register.
He said those who wish to see the racers as they make it past the finish line, should expect some runners to cross the line, located next to the YMCA on Klondike, at around 8:30 in the morning.
Once all the 5 and 10k runners have completed their races, the kid's 100 meter race will begin, he said, and that should last about 15 minutes. All runners will receive T-shirts and there will be awards given in each age group. There is a $30 registration fee for adults, and a $20 fee for those under 17. Children can participate in the kid's run for free.
