Tennis Association Proposes Covering Courts

The Sheridan County Tennis Association is proposing to cover two of the tennis courts at Thorne-Rider Park in Sheridan so that they can be used by the public as a year-round facility. Association President Lorna Brooks on why they chose the courts at Thorne-Rider.

During a presentation to the Sheridan City Council Monday night, Brooks stated that they've received letters of support from the Sheridan Recreation District, the North Main Association and the Sheridan Athletic Association.

The council voted in favor of offering a letter of support for the project. The association is proposing to cover the two courts with a tent like fabric material with a steel frame support structure.

Creative Tent International has given them a quote of $300,000 for the total cost of the project. A single membership would be $20 a month; $35 a month for a couple and $50 a month for a family. They are also proposing to offer a $12 an hour fee as well.
