It took library director Cameron Duff completely by surprise. A phone call telling him the library was going to receive a donation and to be at a certain place at a certain time; who can turn down that kind of invitation? He explains.
Duff got to the North Main McDonalds on time. The place was packed as kids were running every where. Ronald McDonald was there doing magic tricks out front while free “Happy Meals” were being given away to the first 100 folks in line. It was busy but McDonald's owner Larry Storo was on hand with check in hand.
Storo knows the importance of getting kids to read early and says it's also about giving back to the community.
The gift will be used to purchase some Easy Reader Picture Books to help get kids started reading early.
