Superintendent's Administrative Assistant Retires

Leah Olafson smiles for the camera at her final Sheridan School District 2 Board of Trustees meeting. Olafson served the District for over 30 years, the last as Administrative Assistant to Superintendent Craig Dougherty.

A fond farewell was said to Leah Olafson at Monday's District 2 Board meeting.

The Board presented her with a card and Superintendent Craig Dougherty, for whom Olafson has been “his rudder” as his Administrative Assistant quipped that while her retirement is well-deserved, for him it is a “tragedy.”

For her part, a tearful Olafson said that she has been with the District for over thirty years, and leaving will be bittersweet.

Filling the position is Angie Winn, a Lander native who recently moved to Sheridan from a small town on the Washington coast.
