At the Johnson County School Board meeting Monday night, the administrators from the schools reported that student enrollment looks to be very much the same as at the end of last school year, but cautioned that numbers will probably change these first few weeks of school.

Meadowlark Elementary Principal Kathy Camino said numbers at the school are holding steady at just under 380 students in kindergarten through third grade.

Craig Anderson, Principal at Clear Creek Elementary, reported they have seen 14 new students but have lost some from the end of last year. He expects more students to register this week, but so far has 168 students, 82 in fourth grade and 86 in fifth grade.

Clear Creek Middle School has 21 new students, bringing the number there in sixth through eighth grades to about 250, according to Principal Teresa Staab.

No numbers were given for Buffalo High School or Kaycee Schools at the meeting.
