A reception for the art students of Sheridan College will be held today in the college's Martinsen Art Gallery.
The reception, planned for 4-5 this afternoon, celebrates the opening of the student exhibit. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public. The gallery is located in the Whitney Academic Center.
According to the college public relations office, the exhibit features a wide range of artwork, including photography, drawings, paintings, graphic art, ceramics and mixed media. The works will be on display through May 12. The center is open weekdays, from 8-5.
College art instructor Rod Dugal said the annual exhibit gives the students of the fine arts department a chance to showcase their hard work and cutting edge innovation.
