After reopening and dedication ceremonies Wednesday, the Story Fish Hatchery will be hosting an open house this Saturday, July 9, to showcase renovations and upgrades to the facility.
The open house will begin at 9am and conclude at 4pm.
Wyoming Game and Fish Information Specialist Warren Mischke explains why they are hosting an open house.
The public will be treated to tours of the facility, a video about the hatchery and what they do, and there will be drawings for fishing poles for children under 15 and a place to practice spin casting as well.
According to a G&F news release, the remodel included improvements to the water delivery systems, fish rearing areas, and egg incubation facilities.
With the completed renovations the hatchery will be capable of producing and incubating 4 to 6 million eggs each year. The eggs are spawned from the lake, brook, rainbow, brown, and golden trout brood stocks that are housed at the facility.
