There was a party in Story over the weekend and it included the whole community. It was Story Days and it was all about good times with good friends and neighbors. The three day event began Friday with a Dutch oven cook-off, silent auction and historical walking tour. Skye Evers coordinated the 17 artists’ booths set up for Story Days and loves the close-knit feel of the community.
Saturday began bright and early with the Fireman's breakfast, followed by a parade, Indian ceremonial dancing, and a spinning demonstration. But the events which brought the crowds in was the Mutton Busting for the kids and Chicken Roping for all ages. Stevie Phillips told us.
Sunday started off with a community church service, pot luck lunch, followed by an old fashioned softball game and other family events. Tyrrell Wood has lived in Story all his life – that is, all seventeen years of it – and “wouldn't miss Story Days if he could help it.”
Fine food and great music was to be found all weekend at the 24th Annual Story Days.
