Sheridan Media's Chris Foy was at Tuesday night's final meeting of the Story Community Assessment and has more on what was discussed.
The Story Woman's Club was packed full of residents Tuesday night in the final meeting of the assessment. Chairman of the Story Community Fund, Patrick Morgan, says he was impressed with the turn-out over the past two days. He says one of the most important projects underway is adding fire break to prevent catastrophic damage should a forest fire find its way through the area thick with ponderosa pines.
Morgan says since the Story Community Fund was started in November of 2011, the Story Volunteer Fire Department has received $25,000. Grateful from the support from residents and landowners, he says they are now directing their efforts at building an endowment fund similar to the Wyoming legislature's rainy day fund.
If you'd like to learn more or support the group's efforts, visit www.storycommunityfund.org and get in touch with Patrick Morgan. He says he's happy to mail out information if requested.
