As we reported last month, the official Story Community Assessment began on Monday and will continue on Tuesday, as seven more meetings will be held to allow Story residents and landowners to share their vision for the area. Sheridan Media's Chris Foy has more.

Story residents and property owners are invited to attend a town hall meeting at the Story Women's Club at 7 p.m. on Tuesday to provide their input on what they'd like to see happen in Story in the next few years. Patty Hoover, secretary and treasurer of the Story Community Fund, explains.

The Story Community Assessment began Monday with a series of afternoon meetings, but events will continue on Tuesday. The Wyoming Rural Development Council will be hosting the meetings - hoping that local residents can provide ideas and suggestions.

Hoover says this is an opportunity for residents to make a real impact. She explains what will happen following Tuesday night's meeting.

Hoover says the Story Community Fund was recently notified they were awarded an unrestricted grant for $5,000 from the Homer & Mildred Scott Foundation. To date, the community fund has raised nearly $25,000 for the Story Volunteer Fire Department. Additionally, the Story Community Fund is developing a pilot project to bring recycling bins to the area.

Again, the final meeting of the assessment will be held Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Story Women's Club. Members of the public are invited to attend and provide their input about which projects should be a priority, as well as point out problems and challenges the community faces.
