During this past legislative session, lawmakers adjusted the population formula, resulting in the City of Sheridan receiving on additional bar and grill license.
That additional license meant that the City would be in ownership of two bar and grill licenses. Several years ago when Sheridan was allocated the three original licenses, there were a number of applicants that came calling for their chance at one of the coveted documents.
City Clerk Scott Badley says that since receiving that additional license in July, they've received not one application for either license.
So would the downturn in the economy have something to do with the lack of interest.
Powder River Pizza and the soon-to-be new Rib and Chop House on the corner of 5th and Main streets are the two businesses currently using two of the bar and grill licenses, while the other two will continue to be available should a prospective business owner desire to apply for one.
