The Wyoming Council for Women's Issues organization is seeking nominations for its 2014 Woman of Distinction and Employer of Choice awards.
Sherrill Helzer of Torrington is the chairman for the committee responsible for making selections. She said nominations should be sent to the Wyoming Business Council by the end of next month.
She called the Woman of Distinction honor a once-in-a-lifetime recognition of the recipient's impact on women and/or families in one or more of the council's areas of focus, which are education, employment, community outreach, legal issues or health and wellness.
She said the Employer of Choice award, was formerly known as the Summit Award, and recognizes companies for implementing family-friendly practices. She said they especially encourage and applaud businesses that offer flexibility and minimize the stresses of balancing work and family obligations while increasing employee productivity.
