The Governor's office released comments from state officials who eulogized former Sen. Malcolm Wallop Wednesday morning at the State Capitol.

During the Reagan era, Wyoming had a strong presence at the federal level, as former Sen. Alan K. Simpson served as a junior senator during Wallop's term in the 1980's, at the same time that Dick Cheney was a congressman. Simpson spoke at the memorial service Wednesday.

Wyoming Gov. Mead gave his condolences.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Thursday, September 22nd at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and burial will be at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
