Members of the Wyoming Legislature were set to travel to Laramie this morning to welcome home the Wyoming Army National Guard’s 133rd Engineer Company.
As a result, Speaker of the House Tom Lubnau canceled all morning committee meetings for the House of Representatives. The Senate committee meetings were to go on as scheduled.
The news comes directly from Rosie Berger, a Republican Representative from Sheridan, who said she was excited to go along on the excursion. She said the House and Senate both planned to convene today, beginning at 10, unless the buses were delayed returning to Cheyenne.
She said the 162 soldiers deployed from Wyoming in April and are from 38 communities across the state, as well as Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska and Utah. They were stationed at Isa Air Base in Bahrain, to provide security to the personnel and equipment there on the base.
