State Law Requires Time Off to Vote

The Primary Election in Wyoming is this Tuesday, August 21st. Employers should keep in mind that Wyoming state law requires employees to have some time off from their job to vote. Secretary of State Max Maxfield.

Maxfield stated that the law does not apply to employees who have three or more consecutive non-working hours during the time polls are open and that there are exceptions for some federal agencies. He also said that the hour off should not be a lunch hour and may be selected at the convenience of the employer. Polls Tuesday will be open from 7 am to 7 pm.
