One of our local mayors is heading out of state next week to recruit businesses to the area. News Director Leslie Stratmoen has the story.
Leaders of the state's economic development agency have invited Sheridan's mayor to join them at an upcoming trade show next week in California. Mayor Dave Kinskey said the Wyoming Business Council is paying for his registration at the Machine Tools Trade Show in Anaheim, while the city pays for him to get there.
He said Sheridan does have a proven successful track record for enticing business owners to leave the big city behind for a better business lifestyle in Sheridan.
He also has an idea of who he'll be targeting, in other words, businesses that would do well here, based on companies that have already made the move.
Ideally, he said, the company that could make a good go of it here in Sheridan would be a smaller business that employs a handful of workers, with sights set on expanding to upwards of 50 to 100 people.
