Getting around parts of downtown Sheridan will be difficult this summer, and next year is already looking to be just as busy with capital construction projects. The biggest endeavor will be the North Main Reconstruction project. The City of Sheridan is partnering with WYDOT to get aging infrastructure repaired while the road surface is replaced from Dow Street to Fort Road. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey is in Cheyenne today to appear before the State Loan and Investment Board.
While the money is coming from the recent Stimulus Package, the funds will be a loan to the City. Is the City really going to go $5 million in debt on this project?
If the SLIB approves the loan, the City would be very close to fully funding their part of the project. They are still counting on voters to pass the capital facilities tax this summer to garner the rest of the cash.
