Friday and today, the Wyoming State Board of Medicine is meeting at the Sheridan Holiday Inn for their October meeting. Executive Director of the Board, Kevin Bohnenblust, explains why this Cheyenne-based board is meeting in Sheridan.
The Governor appoints members to the Board of Medicine, with approval of the Wyoming State Senate. There are eight members, five of which are physicians. Of those five, one must be a Doctor of Osteopathy, or a D.O, and at least two must be MD's and one member must be a Physicians Assistant. The remaining two members are lay people from the public.
With a combination of Executive and Public Sessions, Bohnenblust tells us what the focus was Friday.
And as for the agenda items today, he says.
On Monday, we'll share more in-depth about the licensing issues that the Board of Medicine addressed at this two-day gathering.
