With springtime hopefully not too far away, now is the time to vaccinate your pets before the warm weather settles in for good. Veterinarian Dr. Mark Schreiber explains why it's so important to have your animals vaccinated soon.
Dr. Schreiber said that the problem with the vaccine for kennel cough is that it doesn't last very long. He indicated that the label on the vaccine says it will last for up to a year, but that it more typically lasts for around three months. Schreiber stated that while kennel cough isn't a terribly lethal disease, it can be very inconvenient for the animal and the animal's owner, as it is comparable to strep throat in humans.
