When the 62nd Wyoming Legislature ended their session last month, several legislative leaders voiced their concern and displeasure on the effect that special interest groups were having on lawmakers. With more and more people getting their “news” or information from social media websites these days, special interest groups such as the Wyoming Gun Owners Association used this to their advantage to inform people of half of the story says State Senator Bruce Burns.

Lobbyists for the special interest groups didn't stop with just the voting public either, as Senator Phil Nicholas of Laramie is on record saying that information was apparently being sent through Facebook to lawmakers on the floor from lobbyists in the gallery. Some legislators said that they'd received emails that included death threats to themselves and family members.
