The Kendrick Mansion, located on the grounds of the Trail End Historic Site in Sheridan is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the details about the upcoming kickoff to the anniversary celebration.
A week from this Saturday there'll be a Speakeasy Fundraising Party at the Black Tooth Brewing Company in Sheridan. Sponsored by the Trail End Guilds, Inc., the Speakeasy Party commemorates the date in 1933 that Americans were once again allowed to brew beer after thirteen years of national prohibition.
The fundraiser will include live music, door prizes and the introduction of the Beer Bear, a sculpture that will be raffled off in July. It is encouraged, but not required to dress in 1920's-1930's costumes and attire and pose for photos in the historic Turf Bar photo booth on site. The Speakeasy Party will be Saturday, March 23 at the Black Tooth Brewery in Sheridan. Doors will open at 5 pm, with music starting at 6:30. Admission is $10 per person, with all of the proceeds going towards additional public programming scheduled throughout the year.
Volunteers are needed for the Speakeasy Party as well as other 100th anniversary events. If you're interested in volunteering, you can contact the Trail End State Historic Site at 307-674-4589.
