The Sheridan Police Department fields dozens of calls each day, sometimes to grateful recipients of help, and sometimes to less than willing criminal suspects. Sheridan Police Chief, Rich Adriaens, says he's committed to providing transparency to the community, and employs technology to refute unfounded accusations and also provide accountability to the people it serves.
The local dispatch can also constantly track the location of each police car and how fast its going. Monitoring equipment in police vehicles and on officers themselves serves both officers and citizens.
Adriaens said he's hoping to implement additional safeguards for both citizens and officers as it becomes possible.
