A little over a couple of weeks ago, the Sheridan Public Arts Committee commissioned Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey and members of the Sheridan City Council to vote on their favorite on-loan sculpture from the 2013 program.
The votes were collected this week and the winner is The Wild and the Woolly sculpture by Curt Mattson from Glendale, Arizona. Sheridan Public Arts Coordinator Beth Holsinger says the sculpture that sits in front of First Interstate Bank on Main Street has some history to it.
Holsinger said that for winning the competition, Mattson will be awarded $250. She added that the on-loan sculpture contest will continue into the future as a means to try and attract more art to the area.
