Soldier Creek Road Safety Under Scrutiny

The Sheridan County Commissioners have agreed to commit $54,000 of Capital Facilities Tax to modify the most dangerous stretch of road in the county.

The state is supplying an additional $100,000 of grant funding from the High Risk Rural Road program. Sheridan County Engineer, Ken Muller, said research has identified a specific spot on the road as a travel hazard.

Muller said the plan is to flatten and re-align two curves in the area so the turns aren't as sharp and add a safety slope to make the roadway easier to navigate.
