Sneakers And Spurs Run Bigger Than Ever

The field included hundreds of runners for the annual Sneakers and Spurs race in downtown Sheridan on Friday morning. The event is a five-kilometer run with the finish line right in the heart of Sheridan at Grinnell Plaza. Sean Wilde was the first one to complete the course and says his cross country teammate helped him win the race.

People of all ages and backgrounds participated in the race. Lloyd Marsden may have seen more years than many of the runners but he enjoys the exercise. What is it that makes it so appealing?

Some contestants took the Sneakers and Spurs theme literally and had tennis shoes that “jingled” when they walked. Others ran the entire race in cowboy boots. It’s all part of the fun of Sheridan WYO Rodeo Friday.
