Smith Street was blocked one more time yesterday to celebrate the completion of the project, which spanned nearly two years. A few dozen people attended a ribbon cutting at the newly installed crosswalk in front of the Sheridan Senior Center. Senior Center Director Carmen Rideout says all the inconveniences were worth it.
One of the Sheridan City Engineers Joe Schoen was the project lead for the construction. He says there are just a couple of things left to do.
Several trees along Smith Street were removed during the construction and those trees will be replaced tree for tree. Schoen expects planting to begin in the spring.
