SMH Gets Few Relevant Leapfrog Stats

Sheridan Memorial Hospital regularly participates in consumer satisfaction surveys and uses the data it receives to fine tune its services. Among with the work-intensive process of transferring over to an Electronic Medical Records system, the hospital recently got results from a Leapfrog survey, which is geared toward helping employers gather hospital statistics to help them make decisions regarding employee benefits.

Dr. Mike Strahan, secretary of the board, said although the hospital did very well on the survey, the new survey doesn't provide relevant stats.

The hospital was one of the last in the state to complete the Leapfrog assessment, which has been pushed onto the medical industry by the Wyoming Business Coalition. It's not that SMH has anything to hide in terms of statistical reporting, but Strahan feels informational outlets should be geared toward the primary care provided at his hospital.

SMH consistently scores well on nationwide operations assessment, and recently received an Avatar award for consumer satisfaction.
