Sheridan Memorial Hospital kicked off their Electronic Medical Records system Monday after months of system preparation and staff training.
A media release from the hospital reports patients may have longer than usual wait times while the hospital staff ensures the brainwork on their end is done correctly. Community relations coordinator for the hospital, Cecile Pattison, said the system is running well.
Pattison said the EMR system will be required in all hospitals by 2015, but Sheridan's hospital is getting it done ahead of time. Hospital CEO, Mike McCafferty released a statement thanking the community for their patience and understanding during this transitional time.
