Think local and think small for Small Business Saturday this weekend. That note comes from the Small Business Administration, as Wyomingites get ready to tackle their holiday shopping lists. S-B-A Wyoming District Director Amy Lea says those local businesses are the foundation of the economy, with more than half of America’s workers either owning or working for a small business.
Smaller businesses often don’t have the cash to back full-on holiday advertising campaigns. Lea says this Saturday has been carved out as a niche to help them gain attention – and sales.
According to the S-B-A, small businesses have generated 64 percent of new jobs over the past 15 years.
